This course is designed for students who have just left school and want to pursue a career in the hospitality and catering industry with a specific focus on bakery. It is also for adults who wish to re-train or gain accreditation for an existing job role.
There are no entry requirements for this course other than a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
A good level of kitchen skills would be desirable, alongside a keen interest in everything pastry.

The key topics you will cover on this course include hot and cold desserts and puddings, cakes, sponges and biscuits, paste products, and bread and fermented dough products.
You will study these four units to develop the knowledge, skills and behaviors you will need for your future career, whilst preparing and producing of a range of patisserie and confectionary dishes.
With this qualification you could go straight into the industry working in a bakery or pastry kitchen, or you could progress onto our Level Three Certificate in Professional Patisserie & Confectionary course.
