Graphic Design students recently had the opportunity to take part in an interskills graphic design competition at Hartlepool College.
The purpose of interskills competitions is to bring colleges together in the North East and I this instance, give the students an opportunity to compete in the design field.
The primary goal in this competition was to produce a series of sketches through to product realisation to promote creativity and design awareness in producing a wallpaper magazine front cover. This is the only part in which you will use digital applications to produce a front cover, print and present.
Groups of students from East Durham College and Hartlepool College of FE were involved in the competition and from Sunderland College, AS Graphic Students Libby Johnson, Anna Longville, Amy Halliday, Sam Clinton, Kay Hobin, Eve Rowan, Lewis Scorah and overall competition winner, Sophie Lowder.
Lisa Jackson Sunderland College Graphics Lecturer said:
“Every one of our students that entered the competition, produced work to an outstanding level. They showed their commitment as future Graphic Designers by attending the first day of the event in their holiday time. I am so proud of each and every one of them.”
The college as a whole congratulates Sophie and the rest of the students on their fantastic achievements, they have since been asked to exhibit in Hartlepool College of FE main exhibition!
