Sunderland College Sport students put their crazy golf skills to the test in a recent visit to Mr Mulligans in Newcastle.
The Level 3 Sport and Exercise Sciences students took part in 27 holes of crazy space golf as part of their course induction after joining the college in September.
The visit was a great chance for new students to get to know their new classmates and the staff who will be teaching them for the next two years. Our BTEC courses are great for students who are looking for a hands on approach to learning, so this was a great opportunity for both staff and students to get to know one another outside of the learning environment.
Paul Brown, Sunderland College Course Lead in Sport and Exercise Sciences said:
“This was a really good activity to get to know the new first year students and a chance for them to get to know each other. We believe it is very important for students to take part in activities like this, it creates a real positive atmosphere across the group and also helps them to feel totally at ease in what can be quite a new and overwhelming time in their life.”
Cameron Cowey, Level 3 Dipoma Student in Sport and Exercise Sciences said:
“The crazy golf day was great. The score cards and pictures of the day have gone up on the notice board and been shared between the group. It was a really great ice breaker and a good chance to mix with the whole group. We all really enjoyed getting to know each other outside of the classroom and are glad we had the opportunity to take part in this.”
