Thomas described his time at Sunderland College as really supportive, friendly and interesting.
He said:
“I chose Sunderland College as the course content was really interesting and there was more time for self-study, which gives you more independence than you had at school.
“I’d love to work in politics and the opportunities I’ve had on my course to gain practical experience in this area have been great. I got to meet Sharon Hodgson, the British Labour Party politician and ask her questions. It really sparked my interest and has encouraged me to pursue a career in politics.”
Thomas is now progressing to Newcastle University to study History and Politics.
