You will use maths skills every day in the construction sector to:

  • to build and maintain relationships during construction projects 
  • to share ideas and best practice 
  • to write a quote 
  • to understand a written specification. 

Why English skills are important in the construction sector 

You will use english skills everyday in the construction sector to:

  • to calculate surface areas of floors and walls 
  • to work out ratios of sand and cement in mortar 
  • to calculate how much material is required 
  • to calculate roof angles using Pythagoras
