Our media and photography students were recently commissioned by Limkokwing University and their fashion club to photograph their high profile catwalk show and capture on video at London Fashion Week.
The students were delighted to be given the opportunity to document the high profile event in the capital city. They were given VIP access and an opportunity to photograph and interview designers, models, stylists and make-up artists preparing for the catwalk show.
Since returning, the photographers have been selecting and editing photographs to submit to Limkokwing University. The media students are producing an edit of the footage to provide to Limkokwing for promotional use.
Robin Cowings Sunderland College Lecturer in Creative Arts
“It was an exciting opportunity for students to experience and document a big, newsworthy event such as this. Something I would have loved to have done myself as a student and as a commercial fashion photographer. The students were exposed to the excitement and drama of the show and learned a lot from the hard work and high expectations that they were given. I am very proud of what they have managed to achieve.”
Chelsea Hobkirk Sunderland College HND Photography student added:
“Being able to network and meet people within the fashion industry was really insightful and gave me experience with working within fashion week at a high pressure, high profile event.”
