SEND students at Sunderland College have been talking about their future goals as part of National Careers Week 2020.
The students, who have a wide and varied range of learning difficulties and disabilities, looked at careers and positive destinations to raise their aspirations.
The ‘In the future I want to…’ event helped the learners identify what they want to be when they leave college and demonstrated the different outcomes available to them.
Deborah McHale, Careers Guidance Officer said:
“National Careers Week is a brilliant opportunity for us to raise the profile of careers and further develop young people with access to opportunities and career development with positive outcomes.
It’s really great to see our Directions students taking part.”
In line with National Careers Week, the college’s Senior Leadership Team has pledged to support SEND learners in developing their work skills and experience across all college areas and campuses to support their career development and better understand the world of work.
