The Level 1 beauty therapy students, took time out of their studies to visit Bede Campus and raise funds for the fantastic charity.
Students Alicia, Sophie and Danielle carried out a file and polish and hand and arm massage for those who were willing to make a donations towards World Aids. This was not only a great opportunity to get involved in raising money for a great cause, but gave the students a confidence boost in being able to carry out basic manicures and massages on clients.
In total, £30 was raised from the students efforts and they are looking to build on this with another fundraiser very soon.
Lesley Mysleyko, Hair and Beauty Lecturer said:
“The students were very proud of themselves for being able to carry out manicures, hand and arm massages on clients who were willing to donate to a great cause. I am so proud of their efforts, they are already looking forward to future fundraising events in the coming year.”
Gillian Evans, Senior Youth Worker added:
“The girls were a credit to their course and played a huge part in raising donations. They were patient, knowledgeable, friendly and generally had a fantastic attitude. We’re already looking forward to working with them again to raise more funds.”
