Sunderland College womens football squad recently netted two wins, claiming the North East Colleges League title and the league cup.
This success was fantastic for the womens football squad, who have grown from strength to strength this season.
Carl Jones Football Development Centre Co-ordinator
“The Women’s Football Development programme has gone from strength to strength over the last 2-3 years. The perseverance from Improtech Soccer to dedicate the time and effort into the programme has really begun to reap its reward both on and off the pitch. As Development Centre Co-ordinator I am extremely proud of all of our student-athletes application. The recent success in the League, League Cup and Futsal Winter League marks the level of achievement and standards that have been set within the development centre, we look forward to seeing this team continue to grow as we move into 19-20.”
Emily Burton, Level 3 BTEC Sport (Performance & Excellence) added:
“It feels amazing to be able to say that we are the first women’s team in Sunderland College to win the league and the league cup. Special thanks to all members of staff for making this possible and we hope to do the same next season.”
